报告题目:Communication technology in smart grid

报告人:李晓卉,武汉科技大学信息科学与工程学院教授

报告摘要:

Smart Grid is an advanced power network featured by its two-way flows of electricity and information. A reliable two-way communication infrastructure with a high throughput can lay the foundation towards the ultimate objective of a fully automated power grid with self-healing capabilities. Therefore, accelerated deployment of various smart grid communication technologies has been experienced. Despite such a widespread deployment, it is still not clear which communication technology solutions are the best fit to support more and more increasing smart grid applications. This is because different smart grid applications have different network requirements – in terms of data payloads, sampling rates, latency and reliability. Therefore, this report reviews information about different communication network requirements for different smart grid applications, ranging from those used in a Home Area Network (HAN), Neighborhood Area Network (NAN) and Wide-Area Network (WAN).
